Adventure Cycling Association - great online resource for route inspiration, maps and a lot more! "Adventure Cycling inspires and empowers people to travel by bicycle".

ReserveAmerica - book your campgrounds online with "the largest provider of campsite reservations in North America facilitating millions of transactions every year".  All your reservations are logged in date order in the 'My reservations' section making it easy to keep track!

Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park


Monument Valley Tribal Park (official website) - Useful resource for learning more about the park.  It is not part of the US National Park Service (NPS) as it is completely within and surrounded by the Navajo Indian Reservation. 

Gouldings Lodge & Campground - affordable and comfortable accommodation only 6 miles from the park.

Grand Canyon National Park


Grand Canyon National Park (official website) - great online resource with lots of helpful downloads to make the most out of your visit.

Hike Smart - guidelines provided by the National Park Service (NPS) to ensure you are prepared for hiking in the Grand Canyon.

Backcountry permit information - "If you wish to camp anywhere in the park, other than in developed campgrounds on the North Rim, South Rim, or Tuweep, you must obtain a permit from the Backcountry Information Center".

Backcountry Permit Request Form - once completed, send via fax (preferred) or mailed.

Please note: "The furthest in advance permit requests are accepted and considered by the Backcountry Information Center is the first of the month, four months prior to the proposed start month".

Phantom Ranch lodging & food - if you are camping overnight in the Grand Canyon, you can pre order breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Phantom Ranch - book in advance.

Transcanyon Shuttle - friendly shuttle service from the South Rim to the North Rin (and vice versa).  Reservations are required.
